Cochrane’s Backyard Kids Camp Team put on another fabulous event on August 11. The Krazy Carnival was as crazy as the name suggests with over 200 children running around Cochrane Alliance’s parking lot, where the event was held. Music was blasting, games were running, and sugar was flowing, as each kid made their way ‘round and ‘round the stations.

At registration, each child was given a postcard with nine boxes to be stamped at each game, and once it was completed, they could redeem the card for a free concession item of popcorn, cotton candy, or mini cupcakes! The most popular game of the night was the “Wheel of (Mis)Fortune” where kids spun an upright wheel for the chance to win a free concession ticket but took the risk of getting water dropped on them, a whipped cream pie in the face, or having to eat a chocolate-covered bug or a gross jellybean. Other activities included Plinko, Bean Bag Toss, Snakes and Ladders, Boat Races, Face Painting, and more.  As well, three massive bouncy castles covered the green space, which helped take the edge off of the sugar-induced hyperactivity! It truly was an amazing event, allowing families from the Cochrane community to connect with each other and have fun together.

Make sure to mark your calendars for Backyard Kids Camp next year! It will be a week of fun, games, worship, and connection. Be sure to check out the BKC website in the early spring for more registration info!
