We are excited to let you know that in February 2020, a team of 24 youth and leaders will be travelling to San Raymundo, Guatemala.  Since 2010, Cochrane Alliance Church has been an ongoing partner of the Jesus Viene School. In the early years, our partnership focused on the construction of the school building. The school opened its doors for the first time in January 2015. The school currently serves over 140 students from kindergarten to grade 9 during the January - October school year.

During our missions trip in February, we will be involved in various work projects including engaging with school children, assisting in projects around the school, building a bus shelter and as well providing basic needs to families in the community such as food hampers.  In order to participate in the trip, we as a team need to raise around $48,000.  There are a few ways you can support us in this. We are hosting two large fundraisers.

Our Chili Cook-off Fundraiser is on Saturday, October 26 from 12:00-2:00pm.  Cook & Compete. Or Just Come to Eat! For $25 you can enter your own chili into the competition – yes, there will be prizes! Advance tickets to the event are $5/person or $20/family. Sample different chilis and hear more of what we will be doing.  This is sure to be a great family event! Find out more here. 

We will also be holding a Silent Auction again. This year, it will look a little different as we will be doing the auction online through Facebook.  There are two ways you can support us in this. First, donate an item to the auction that would be bid on (we are accepting donations now).  Second, join in on the auction by bidding on your favorite items.  There will be many great items up for auction from businesses all around Cochrane and Calgary. Bidding will be open November 20-December 4. Watch for more details coming soon! 

You can also partner with us by joining us in prayer. Our team is very excited and we have much to do before we leave.  Please pray for unity to be formed among our team, that funds will be raised and that God will prepare our hearts for what he has for us.
