At a party attended by many of the Jewish religious and legal elite, Jesus challenged some of their conventional wisdom about work, behaviour and even who should be invited to feasts such as this.  Then he went on the tell them, via a parable, that God is preparing a great party, that invitations are already being issued but not everyone decides to actually attend.  So … who gets invitations, who accepts who decides to show up once the party gets started?
